Hello everyone, we are Diana and Aishwarya, and we are proud to be board gamers! We feel that female players are underrepresented in the board gaming society, so our aim is to encourage more women to try and enjoy this hobby. We hope to publish articles regularly - watch this space. :) Our short bios can be found below:

I started playing modern board games in 2008, before moving to the UK - Puerto Rico was the first game I ever played. I was immediately hooked and must have played it hundreds of times back then.
There were a few years during which I did not play any board games, because I was too busy with my PhD; but in the last two years I rekindled my love for board games and started going to local meetups and larger-scale conventions. I found them amazing and I am really happy to have met so many friends for life. Heffers in Cambridge has an awesome selection of games and also hosts regular gaming events, which has been my spiritual home during my time here.
I feel that writing this blog with Aishwarya would be a good initiative to promote gaming to more women, as a lot of gamers I know would like their partners to sit down and play a few games with them. Not that I'm being a blatant braggadocio - but I am an expert in forcing it upon my partner bringing my partner into the game. If you have played games with me, you would probably remember my other
half, Chris, is usually there with me. I am almost always
mistaken as the +1
- but dare I say that he is actually the +1! Anyway, I hope our perspectives as female gamers can help expand the board gaming society. Afterall, the more the merrier 😊

I found three treasures in my life - my husband who takes care of everything about me, my beautiful daughter who encourages me to move on with my life and then my world of board games. Right at this moment I am in a very comfortable position to play games quite as much as I want to and I am very thankful to my family for that.
I started the hobby in 2010 when I was in Minnesota and got introduced to Ticket to Ride by a friend. Then I accidentally came across the Fantasy Flight Event Center (Roseville, MN) and happened to meet more serious gamers, which made me understand the importance of attending meetups and groups dedicated to board games. Later that day, I dug into Boardgamegeek (Google for board gamers) which was just enough to expand the interest levels and forged ahead from there.
The urge to try out quirky stuff and wanting to think out of the box, got me hooked to this incredible world of board games. My love for games with over 300 games in my collection is pushing me to find a way to share my thoughts and experiences. Blogging should be one of the reliable sources. Looking forward to presenting my views and showcasing my perspective of this wonderful platform.
I’m looking forward to your articles; although I hope I don’t feature too much as the comic relief ;)
